Gardagolf is known to experts as one of the best courses that has been constructed over the last fifteen years.Extending over a total area of 110 hectares it was conceived by the English architects Cotton, Penninck Steel &partners. Gardagolf composes of a 27 hole course which lies between the Rock of Manerba (Rocca di Manerba) Soiano Castle and the Valtenesi hills offering extraordinary panoramic views of the beautiful surrounding countryside with its cypresses, olive groves, centenarian oaks and maritime pines.

Gardagolf has worked towards obtaining two results, both of which are important to the golfer: a spectacular green and a technically demanding course. Gardagolf has also wanted to make the course available throughout the year: it is now open also in January.

The Gardagolf countryclub was founded by Mr. Riccardo Pisa, a local entrepreneur and Mr. Giorgio Simonini who, in 1984 wanted to construct a golf course in the Valtenesi area which would provide an ideal setting for golfers and at the same time offer three different enjoyable and challenging itineraries.

The choice was of course Lake Garda, privileged by its temperate climate which allows a golfer to play at any time of the year: The project was given planning permission in 1986 at what once was the "Omedeo Estate", that lies within the municipality of Soiano and Polpenazze, between Desenzano and Salo, the Omedeo family having been patricians of the area in the past . Gardagolf hosts prestigious golf tournaments, National tournaments and has previously hosted the Women's International Open and the Italian open in 1997 and 2003.
